MapaMap for Blaupunkt – available now

At the end of August 2008 new MapaMap for Blaupunkt software was launched in the Polish market – it is a special set of digital maps of Poland compatible with portable GPS devices branded with the blue dot. The software is compatible both with the latest systems – TravelPilot 100, 200, and 300, and with their older versions – TP Lucca 3.3, 3.5, 3.5 Edition, 5.2 and 5.3.

MapaMap for Blaupunkt is a common project of Imagis S.A – producer of MapaMap software and navigation systems – and Blaupunkt, which offers car multimedia products, including the family of mobile GPS TravelPilot systems. The cooperation results in the offer that combines all major aspects of navigation – map accuracy, simple and fast services and advanced technology.

The MapaMap for Blaupunkt set includes the latest digital maps of Poland containing over 2 millions addresses, over 2.3 thousand detailed town and city maps, over 400,000 kilometres of roads, nearly 140,000 POIs (including speed radars provided by the Head Police Office) and sixteen 3D city maps (Białystok, Częstochowa, Gdańsk, Gdynia, Gorzów Wielkopolski, Lublin, Łódź, Katowice, Kraków, Olsztyn, Poznań, Rzeszów, Tarnów, Wrocław, Warszawa, Zielona Góra). The system is designed with the use of intuitive Finger Friendly technology, and the voice messages are given by, among others, the experienced rally co-driver, Maciej Wisławski, Europe’s Champion in car rally.

The installation of the new software is very simple. The application is available on an SD memory card, but – due to the solutions used – can be purchased in either of two versions. The first one is compatible with new TravelPilot devices: 100, 200, and 300 and the other one is compatible with older generation of TravelPilot devices, namely Lucca 3.3, 3.5, 3.5 Edition, 5.2 and 5.3. What is important is that using the digital maps of Poland available in the new software, the user does not have to give up using data entered in Blaupunkt devices – you can switch between these in a simple way.

MapaMap for Blaupunkt data can be updated 4 times a year. Each user can update his/her maps by purchasing the annual subscription directly from Imagis or by a single update. Blaupunkt navigation systems and the MapaMap for Blaupunkt software are available in car multimedia equipment stores.
